Lowell Gilmore, 68, of Warsaw, IN passed away on November 22, 2010 at Simon Cancer Center.  He was born on January 14, 1942 in Richmond, IN to Clarence & Helen (Downing) Gilmore.  On September 26, 1969 he married Kathy Cook who survives.  Lowell moved to the area in 1981.  He was a builder for Heckaman Homes and was the owner of Northern Indiana Housing.  He was a US Marine Veteran serving in Vietnam.  Lowell was a member of the North Webster American Legion.  He is survived by his wife Kathy Gilmore of Warsaw, 2 Daughters – Mrs. Jennifer (Nathan) Rhoades of Avon, IN & Mrs. Kristi (Joel) Rhoades of North Webster.  4 Grandchildren.  1 Brother – Jim Gilmore of Richmond, IN and 2 Sisters – Marilyn Weller of Eaton, OH and Doris Dallas of San Antonio, TX.

A Celebration of Life will be held at the Barbee Hotel from 3-6 PM on Saturday, November 27, 2010.

In lieu of flowers, the family of Lowell Gilmore requests donations be made in honor of his physicians at the IU Simon Cancer Center, Dr. Michael Robertson and Dr. Jose Azar, for the lymphoma program.  Please make memorial gifts payable to the “IUF/IUSCC Gifts Fund ” and mail to IU Simon Cancer Center; c/o IU Foundation; PO Box 660245; Indianapolis, IN 46266.
