Anna Sudlow

Anna Sudlow, 103, Syracuse passed away at 8:30 a.m. Thursday, October 6 at Miller’s Merry Manor Syracuse.
Anna was born December 28, 1912 in Elkhart County the daughter of Jesse and Merta (Harsh) Rex. On November 21, 1931 she married W.A. (John) Sudlow in Syracuse. He preceded her in death on November 6, 1993.
Anna started her education at the Hex School. She then graduated from Syracuse High School in 1931. Anna and her husband W. A. (John) Sudlow founded Sudlow’s Pier Shop in 1937 and worked together until 1979 when they sold the business to their daughter and son-in-law. Anna & Johnny were founding members of the Auburn Cord Dusenburg Club. She was also active in the PTA of Syracuse, Senior Mother’s Club and the Wednesday Afternoon Literary Club. Anna enjoyed bowling, golf and traveling throughout much of the world and RV’d around the USA. Anna and Johnny also enjoyed their little cabin in Ontario, Canada. Anna was also a member of the All Saints Episcopal Church.
Anna is survived by her daughter, Constance Heckaman, grandson John Heckaman, great-granddaughters Caitlin Pavey and Jamsey Heckaman, great-grandson Alec Heckaman, nephew Jesse (Donna) Rex and a niece Sandy. She was preceded in death by her parents, a sister Ida Mae and her husband Louis Hamman, brothers Charles and Roscoe Rex, a son-in-law David Heckaman, grandson Rex Heckaman, nephew Ralph Rex, and niece Donna Jean Reif. Eastlund Funeral Home is handling the arrangements. All services are private.
