Arthur Berton Kolberg
Arthur Berton Kolberg, 90, of Syracuse, IN passed away on April 6, 2012 at the IU Health Goshen Hospital. He was born on November 4, 1921 in Syracuse, IN to Arthur C. & Violet Anna Katherine (Prentice) Kolberg. He was a 1941 graduate of Cromwell High School. On May 22, 1948 he married Margaret Eileen LeCount who preceded him in 2008. He was a lifelong area resident. He retired as a farmer and school bus driver. He was a WWII US Army veteran and member of the D.A.V in Goshen. He is survived by his Fiancé- Katherine Longenecker of Syracuse. 1 Daughter – Becky Kolberg-Mangan of Columbia City. 2 Sons – Eric (Rhonda) Kolberg of Jimtown & Doyle (Cynthia) of Syracuse. 6 Grandchildren. 6 Great-grandchildren. 3 Sisters – Mary Lois Byrd of Mishawaka, Decima Alzima Butt of Syracuse, and Margaret Mazel Poyser of Cromwell. He was preceded by his wife, 4 sisters – Bandora Wilminia Iden, Edonna Elizabeth Kolberg, Violet Edelva Butt, & Lauretta Violetta Stoner. Services will be Saturday, April 14, 2012 at 2:00 PM at the Eastlund Funeral Home with Pastor Hubert Schmucker officiating. There will be 2 hours of calling prior to the service, from Noon until 2:00 PM. Burial will follow at the Syracuse Cemetery.
