Betty Monroe
Betty Monroe, 87, of Syracuse passed away on June 11, 2014 at the Kingston Care Center in Fort Wayne. She was born on March 18, 1927 in Fort Wayne, IN to Wilbur & Florence (Scherer) Sharrick. On November 24, 1948 she married William Monroe who preceded her in 1996. She was a homemaker as well as a church secretary. She was a Syracuse resident for 36 years, and a longtime member of the Calvary Lutheran Church in Cromwell. She is survived by her 2 sons – Tom (Glennie) Monroe of Fort Wayne, and Dennis (Pat Weller) Monroe of Edina, Minnesota. She is also survived by her 6 grandchildren as well as 2 great grandchildren. She was preceded by her husband and 1 sister. Services will be Saturday, June 14, 2014 at 2 PM at the Calvary Lutheran Church in Cromwell, IN. There will be 2 hours of calling prior to the service from noon until 2. Pastors Forrest Van Gundy and Elsie Fregeau will officiate. Burial will follow at the McClintic Cemetery in Syracuse.
