Buthean Kay “Queenie” King

Buthean Kay “Queenie” King, 86, of Pierceton, passed away on August 14, 2022 at her home. She was born on June 5, 1936 in North Webster to Grover & Mabel (Maggart) Penn. On June 26, 1956, she married Allen King who preceded her in 1997. She was a QMA at Mason Health Care for over 40 years. She attended both the First Baptist and Methodist Churches in Pierceton. Her faith and family and friends were the most important to her. She loved cooking, baking, and caring for others in service for the Lord. Queenie loved to sing, and sang with her daughters in church and the nursing home. Among her favorite sayings were “God didn’t make no junk” and “God is good all the time, He is good” She is survived by 3 daughters – Debra (Dean) McFadden of East Moline, IL, Kathy (Gary) Wedlake of Huntington, and Anna (Don) Conwell of Pierceton. 1 son – Jay (Yvonna) King of Pierceton. 11 grandchildren, 7 greatgrandchildren. Along with her husband, she was also preceded by 3 sisters, and 3 brothers, one of which was her twin. Services will be held on Wednesday, August 17, 2022 at 12 noon at the Eastlund Funeral Home with Pastor Dean McFadden officiating. Calling will be 2 hours prior to the service from 10 – noon. Burial will follow at the North Webster Cemetery / Mock Addition. Memorial contributions may be made to The Animal Welfare League of Kosciusko County, The First Baptist Church of Pierceton, or to Heart to Heart Hospice.
