Carol Louise Myers
Our dear mother, Carol Louise Myers, passed away on December 19, 2024. She was 91 years old and passed peacefully at her home in Syracuse, Indiana surrounded by her loving family. Carol was a loving and caring mother who will be missed tremendously. Growing up with her love and support made such a difference in our lives and helped us become who we are today.
Carol was born in Detroit, Michigan on May 22, 1933. Her parents were George (Max) and Eleanor Williams (nee Gridley). She graduated from The University of Toledo with a BA degree in Education and later received her MSW degree from Our Lady of the Lake University in San Antonio, Texas. She began her career teaching as a high school English teacher. She then worked in the Elkhart County Welfare Department as a case worker. Upon receiving her master’s degree, she became the director of the drug and alcohol halfway house at Ft. Sam Houston, Texas. Other employment included addictions therapist and school crossing guard.
Carol was a devoted Christian who absolutely loved life and serving our Lord. She was also a supporter of the International Christians missions through prayer and generous giving. She travelled extensively, including a trip to Peru and hiking in the Alps in Switzerland. She is survived by her four children, Jeff, Susan, Eric (and wife, Denise) and Peter (and wife, Deb). She was also a loving grandmother of 13 grandchildren and several great grandchildren. She was preceded by her husband, Charles M. Myers.
A memorial service will be held at Eastlund Funeral Home on January 4. 2025 at 11 AM. Visitation will be 1 hour prior from 10 until 11 AM.
