Catherine Louise Hoopingarner
Catherine Louise Hoopingarner, 96, of Syracuse, passed away on October 8, 2025 at Waterford Crossing Health Care. She was born on May 31, 1929 in Milford, IN to Raymond & Adelia Christena (Krull) Pinkerton. On August 13, 1950 she married Stanley Hoopingarner who preceded her in 2012. She worked for United Telephone, Citizen’s Bank of Milford, Appenzellers Specialty Shop, and retired from the Syracuse Post Office after 20+ years. She was a 4H Leader for 10+ years. She enjoyed being a homemaker, loved to bake, garden, farm life and traveling. She especially enjoyed her time spent with her grandchildren & great-grandchildren. She is survived by her 2 daughters – Elaine (Donald) Bokhart of Syracuse, Connie (Herman) Houin of Grosse Pointe Shores, MI. 1 son – Steven (Darcy) Hoopingarner of Columbia City. 6 grand, and 6 great-grandchildren. Along with her husband Stanley, she was preceded by her sister Dorothy Tucker. Visitation will be held on Saturday, October 11, 2025 from 1-3 PM at the Eastlund Funeral Home. Following visitation, she will be laid to rest beside her husband at Syracuse Cemetery. Memorial contributions may be made to the Syracuse Wawasee Historical Museum.
