Dolores Black

Dolores Jean Black, 93, beloved wife, mother, sister, grandmother, and great grandmother, passed away Wednesday evening, March 8, 2023 in Port St. Lucie, Florida. She was the second of five children born to Clarence Gall and Evelyn McCumber Gall on December 28, 1929 in Reddick, IL. 

Dolores was preceded in death by her daughter, Melissa; her parents; Orlie Black—her husband of 58 years; her brother, Vernon Gall; and her grandson, Nathan Bowerman. She is survived by her son, Lynn Black of Orlando, FL; her daughter, Joni Bowerman (Dave) of Port Saint Lucie, FL; two grandchildren, Jessica Sprague (Tommy) of Orlando, FL and Jeremy Bowerman (Channing) of Jupiter, FL; six great-grandchildren, Brooke, Addison, Cade, Luke, Heidi, and Harper; sister, Marlene Lower of Kankakee, IL ; and brothers, Donald Gall of Scottsdale, AZ and Gary Gall (Laura) of Terra Ceia, FL. 

Dolores lived most of her life at Black’s landing on Lake Tippecanoe near North Webster, IN. Her primary employment was with Rockhill Attorneys in Warsaw Indiana. She was a long time member of the North Webster Church of God, where she served as Treasurer and Recording Secretary for many years. She and Orlie went on numerous mission trips in the USA and around the world. She spent her final four years living in Florida with her daughter Joni.

A life celebration service will be held on Saturday, March 25, 2023 at 2:00 p.m. at the North Webster Church of God in North Webster, IN with Pastor Jeff Boyer officiating. Visitation will be one hour prior to the service. Burial will follow at the North Webster Cemetery.  Eastlund Funeral Home is handling arrangements.
