Donald Charles Vock

Donald Charles Vock, 86, of Leesburg, IN passed away on September 13, 2017 at his home. He was born on November 5, 1930 in Chicago, IL to Albert Benjamin and Lydia S (Pankow) Vock. He spent his life in the Chicagoland area before retiring to Lake Tippencanoe with the love of his life Joann in 1992. He enjoyed many years of fishing on Lake Tippencanoe. He was preceded in death by his parents, daughter Launa M. Reith, brothers Ralph, and Raymond Vock. He was a US Army veteran serving in the Korean Conflict. His first job was for Hammond Organ. He started off as an office boy who delivered mail and eventually worked his way into the blueprint room where he became a draftsman. Which became the gateway to his career as a design draftsman of waste treatment equipment. Donald was a fixer and master of all trades. Gardening, woodworking, and carpentry are hobbies he mastered. He also built and finished homes during his life. Donald enjoyed many vacations, RVing across the country and Canada with Joann, his brother Harold, and his beloved dog Tippy Girl. He is survived by his wife of nearly 42 years Joann (Jo) Vock of Leesburg. Daughter Dawn Thomas (David Lewis) of Ocean City, MD. Daughter Eve Veljasevic and husband Vic of Island Lake, IL. Son Mark Vock of Bessemer, AL Brother Harold Vock of Itasca, IL. Sister in law and brother in law Ruth and Curt Schacht of Leesburg, IN. 12 grandchildren and 17 greatgrandchildren. Several nieces, nephews and dear friends. A visitation will be held on Saturday, September 16, 2017 from 2-4 pm at the Eastlund Funeral Home. In lieu of flowers the family requests memorial contributions to Goshen Hospice or the Animal Welfare League of Kosciusko County.
