Edith Welty
Edith Welty, 89, of Syracuse, IN passed away on December 15, 2011 at Millers Merry Manor in Wakarusa, IN. She was born on May 10, 1922 in Berne, IN to Jonas & Addie (Nichols) Liechty. On January 1, 1947 she married Everett Welty who preceded her in 1997. She retired from Sea Nymph Boat Company after 21 years of service and was a homemaker. Edith enjoyed gardening and had a love for animals. She was a founding member of Wawasee Lakeside Chapel. She is survived by her 2 sons – Keith Welty of Syracuse & Kermit (Kathy) Welty of Lancaster, OH. 2 daughters – Bev Welty of Goshen & Brenda (Lonnie) Bolinger of Syracuse. 5 grandchildren & 8 greatgrandchildren. 2 brothers – Robert Liechty of Grabil, IN & Gordon Liechty of Leo, IN. 3 sisters – Ruth King of Archibald, OH, Esther Beck of West Unity, OH & Anna Mowen of Spencerville, IN. She was preceded by her husband, 1 sister & 1 brother. Calling will be Sunday, December 18, 2011 from 2-5 pm at the funeral home. Services will be Monday, December 19, 2011 at 10:30 AM at the Eastlund Funeral Home with Pastor Norm Reimer officiating. Burial will follow at the Syracuse Cemetery.
