Gene Stoffel

Gene H. Stoffel, 90, of Syracuse, IN passed away on August 30, 2019 at Masons Health Care. He was born on September 14, 1928 in Huntington, IN to Frank & Mary (Gill) Stoffel. He was a US Army veteran having served in Korea. He was a Budweiser rep for many years. Upon retirement he owned and operated the Liquor store in Pierceton. Gene was an avid golfer, having belonged to many golf clubs, including So. Bend CC, Maplecrest CC, Tippy CC, LaFountaine CC, Crooked Lake CC, South Shore, and Max Welton. The latter 2 over 60 years. He was Club Champion in all of them, some of them several times. He won several Indiana Amatuer titles, and Senior Amatuer titles. Gene is survived by his wife – Gloria Stoffel of Syracuse. 1 son – Randy (Vicki) Stoffel of Florida. 1 daughter – Shellann Stewart of Idaho. 3 step daughters – Cinda (Bart) Culver of No. Webster, Candice (Tim) Hine of No. Webster, and Cathy Heckaman of Syracuse. 3 step sons – Christopher (Kathy) Singrey of Milford, Chad Singrey of Larwill, and Curt Singrey of Warsaw. 13 grand, and 10 great-grandchildren. 1 sister – Helene Craig of Huntington. He was preceded by an infant son , 1 step daughter, 1 grandson, 2 great-grandchildren, 3 brothers, and 5 sisters. Visitation will be held on Saturday, September 14 from 9-11 AM at the Eastlund Funeral Home with a memorial service at 11 followed by Military rites.
