Harold Stoffel

Harold Stoffel, 91, of Syracuse passed away on April 29, 2016 at his home. He was born on March 16, 1925 in Huntington, IN to Frank & Mary (Gill) Stoffel. On September 30, 1950 he married Maxine Carl who preceded him in 1991. He operated the North Webster Lumber yard and was a longtime farmer as well. He was a US Army veteran, and a longtime member of the St. Martin’s DePorres Catholic church. He was also a member of Knights of Columbus and the American Legion Post 253. He is survived by his seven children – Cindy (John) Hollister, Larry (Cathy) Stoffel, Frank (Brenda) Stoffel, Diane Rucker, John (Dale) Stoffel, Dave (Cathy) Stoffel, and Angie (Dave) Wall. 20 grandchildren, and 23 greatgrandchildren. He was also preceded by 1 grandchild and 1 greatgrandchild. Visitation will be Monday, May 2, 2016 from 5-8 PM at the Eastlund Funeral Home with a Rosary service at 7:30. Funeral mass will be held on Tuesday, May 3, 2016 at 10 AM at the St. Martin’s DePorres Catholic church in Syracuse with Father Richard Hire officiating. Burial will follow at the North Webster cemetery/Mock addition with military rites performed by the North Webster American Legion. Memorial contributions may be made to the IU Goshen Hospice.
