Ivan L. “JR” Martz
Ivan L. “JR” Martz, 80, of Leesburg passed away on August 25, 2014 at the Hospice Home in Ft. Wayne. He was born on July 27, 1934 to Ivan & Mildred (Stouder) Martz. He was a lifelong resident of Nappanee and Leesburg. He attended Cable School and Nappanee High School. He worked as a farm hand, salesman, and retired as a truck driver for Fairmont Homes. He attended the Wawasee Lakeside Chapel. He was a member of the Sons of the American Legion Post 154. He proudly served his country in the US Army reserves for 12 years. Ivan enjoyed traveling, camping, golf, and bowling. He is survived by his wife – Yvonne Martz of Leesburg. 2 sons – William (Ina) Martz of Nappanee, and Terry (Penny) Martz of Nappanee. 4 daughters – Marcia (Leroy) Moon of Elkhart, Annette Martz of Nappanee, AQmy Allard of Elkhart, and Dawn Martz of California. 2 stepsons – Robert (Debbie) Rector of Pierceton, and James (Diane) Rector of Rochester. 3 stepdaughters – Peg Hartsough of Cromwell, Kathy (RD) Griffin of Arkansas, and Carol Fulford of Arkansas. 28 grandchildren, 32 greatgrandchildren. Also surviving are his 6 siblings, Carolyn Weber of Nappanee, Sandy Martz of Mishawaka, Richard (Kathy) Martz of Ohio, Gary (LaVonne) Martz of Nappanee, Denny (Melody) Martz of Elkhart and Ronnie (Nancy) Martz of Elkhart. He was preceded by his parents, a sister Marilyn Hamilton, and his son Robert Martz. Visitation will be Thursday, August 28, 2014 from 4-6 PM at the Eastlund Funeral Home. A memorial service will follow at 6 PM with pastor Brad Cox officiating. Memorial contributions may be made to the Wawasee Lakeside Chapel.
