Karol Stanley

Karol Stanley, 79, of Syracuse, IN passed away on February 7, 2015 at the Sacred Heart Hospital in Pensacola, FL. He was born on November 3, 1935 in Plainfield, IN to Lowell and Juanita (Newby) Stanley. On October 19, 1958 he married Sasha Hire who preceded him in 2011.
Retired from Navy Reserve
He was employed at Wright Patterson Air Force Base as a Civilian Contractor and retired from there.
He was a ham radio operator, call letters WA8NKW…he was known to his fellow ham radio operators as Stan.
He graduated from Indiana University and was a member of the Acacia Fraternity
He had a CCW permit, and was an avid gun collector and loved going to the shooting range with anyone that would go with him.
He was a member of the Grand Lodge of Free & Accepted Masons of Ohio
He was a member of The American Legion, North Webster, Indiana Post 0253.
He is survived by his 3 sons – Jeff (Nancy) Stanley of Springboro, OH, Kevin Stanley of Beavercreek, OH, and Mark (Lisa) Stanley of Syracuse. 2 daughters – Kristin Keyer of Beavercreek, OH, and Karlynne Akos of Destin, FL. 8 grandchildren , and 3 great grandchildren. Services will be Saturday, February 14, 2015 at 2 pm at the Eastlund Funeral Home with calling 2 hours prior to the service. Burial will follow at the Syracuse cemetery.
