Larry D. Heckaman
Larry Dillman Heckaman, born May 9, 1947 in Nappanee Indiana, to Ivo “Pete” Heckaman and Mona Lou “Motts” Heckaman, passed away on November 22, 2013 surrounded by his family and friends.
Throughout Larry’s life, he touched so many lives with his generosity, happy-go-lucky attitude and free spirit. Loving father and loyal friend, Larry was a favorite in the Lake Community where he loved warm summer days and rock ‘n roll nights.
Larry is survived by his brothers Gene Heckaman (Wakarusa, IN), Kim Heckaman (Nappanee, IN), and loving sister Linda Swank (Syracuse, IN), his five children Danyi Beldavs (Bloomington, IN), Brooke Heckaman (San Francisco, CA), Lisa Heckaman (Manhattan Beach, CA), Adam Heckaman (San Francisco, CA), Alexandra Heckaman (San Diego, CA) and grandchildren Guthrie Douglas and Briviba Beldavs (Bloomington, Indiana). For the past 17 years, Larry lived in Syracuse with longtime companion Diane Rager, along with her children Alexandra and Kiel Rager.
A celebration of life will be held on Sunday, November 24 from 4-7:00pm at Oakwood Hotel in Syracuse. Flowers can be sent to Oakwood Hotel or donations can be made in Larry’s honor to the New Hope Pet Rescue of Syracuse.
