Marguerite “Marge” Moore

December 21st

Marguerite “Marge” Moore, 92, of Leesburg, IN passed away on December 21, 2011 peacefully in her sleep.  She was born a twin daughter on August 5, 1919 to Jack & Sybil (Sanderson) Raftery.  She was married to Bernard Moore on December 6, 1943.  He preceded her in 2002.  She is survived by her 5 children – Tom (Janet) Moore, Jim (Georgia) Moore, Kevin (Joanne) Moore, Mary (Mike) Steinke, & Ann (Anthony) Honaker.  11 grandchildren – Ian, Zach, Sarah, Kevin, Dan, Jim, Andy, Ryan, Elizabeth, Eileen and Ellen.  5 gratgrandchildren – Ethan, Chloe, Matt, Meagan and Ren.  She was also preceded  by a grandson Zack.  As a young woman in her 20’s and 30’s  Marge was quite the trailblazer.  She was gainfully employed as a typist at a local insurance agency.  It was at her second place of employment where she met a handsome underwriter whom she later married.  When she was in her 30’s, she was the first woman in her neighborhood to hold a drivers license.  Her memories were many for someone who lived 92 plus years.  She fondly reminisced of her loving and doting father, “Bop”.  She couldn’t say enough about Cedar Rapids, Iowa where all of her children were born.  She said she made lots of cookies and donuts for her family who lived in the house “Dad built” on Ridgeway Drive. It was through her actions that she quietly taught her children patience, strength and endurance.  She refused to “Sweat the small stuff” and held her sense of humor and “Dofunnies” throughout her life.  She was a cat lover and found comfort, companionship in several of her feline friends, Buffy, Max, and Lovey.

Calling for Marge will be at Eastlund Funeral Home on Thursday, December  22, 2011 from 6:30 – 8:00 PM.

A gathering for family and friends will be Friday, December 23, 2011 at 10:00 AM with A Mass of Christian burial at 11:00 AM at Sacred Heart Catholic Church  125 N Harrison St. Warsaw, Indiana   46580.  Burial will follow at the Oswego Cemetery.
