Mildred Mikel
Mildred Mikel, 96, of Syracuse, passed away on January 1, 2021 at Paddock Springs in Warsaw. She was born on December 2, 1924 in Kosciusko County to Harvey & Hazel (Stackhouse) Moore. On March 22, 1947 she married Stanley Mikel who preceded her in 2003. She loved helping her husband on the farm during her younger years. She had a passion for gardening and taking care of her house plants. She was a faithful servant of the Lord, and was a longtime member of the Ligonier Evangelical Church. She is survived by her 2 daughters – Carol (Floyd) Murphy of Syracuse, and Donna (Doug) Kunce of Cromwell. 2 sons – Russ (Pat) Mikel of Syracuse, and Brian (Misty) Mikel of New Paris. 18 grandchildren. 45 great-grandchildren, and 4 great-great grandchildren. Along with her husband, she was preceded by her parents, 1 brother, 2 grandchildren, and 2 great-grandchildren. Visitation will be held on Tuesday, January 5, 2021 from 4-8 PM at the Eastlund Funeral Home. Services will be held on Wednesday, January 6, 2021 at 10 AM at the Ligonier Evangelical Church in Ligonier with one hour of calling prior. Burial will follow at Oak Park Cemetery in Ligonier. Due to the current Covid situation, the funeral home as well as the church will require face masks to be worn and that social distancing be observed. Memorial contributions may be made to the Ligonier Evangelical Church.
