Mildred Smith (Millie) went home to her Lord and Saviour on April 18th, 2026. Born on February 5th,1924, she was one of twelve siblings.

She moved from her hometown of Venedocia, Ohio to Fort Wayne, Indiana when she was 18 years old.

She spent her working years employed at the Fort Wayne Chamber of Commerce until she moved to lake Wawasee. There, she worked at Wawasee High School and loved every minute of it!

An active and beloved member of her small community, Millie was always lending a helping hand and involved with her church, Cromwell United Methodist.

Millie loved having an active lifestyle and had many hobbies that kept her young at heart. You could find her cooking, playing cards (Euchre) or tending to her infamous garden. Most of all, Millie loved spending time with her family and enjoying lake-life with them. To know her was to love her!

Millie is survived by,

Daughter; Debra (Dennis) Runkle

Grandchildren; Michele Coats, Dustin (Susie) Runkle, Dawn Runkle. Grand-daughter in law – Amanda Runkle.

Great-grandchildren; Justin (Shama) Smith, Erica Smith, Chelsey Coats, Dominic Paino, Debbi (John) Volk, Vaj James Runkle, Sebastian Runkle, Mayah Runkle, Naomi Runkle, Scout Harris Runkle, Rusty Eldon Delagrange.

Great-great grandchildren; Brooklyn Newland, Madison Dalman, Aliyah Dalman and Kamdyn Solga, Beau Volk, Brice Volk, and Ivey Volk.
