Phillip Lee Rohyans
Phillip Lee Rohyans, 79, of Syracuse, passed away on December 16, 2025 at Kosciusko Lutheran Hospital. He was born on February 3, 1946 in Fort Wayne, IN to Joseph & Marie (Hohman) Rohyans. Phil was a proud US Marine Corps Veteran who served in Vietnam and earned a Purple Heart for his courage in battle. He had a big heart for helping others. He was a loving husband and loving father who cherished his Catholic faith. Phil is survived by his wife of 55 years – Rosemary Rohyans of Syracuse. 1 daughter – Julie Van Volkenburgh of Crown Point. 3 sons – Timothy Rohyans of Mobile, AL, Jeffrey Rohyans of New Haven, and Daniel Rohyans of Fort Wayne. 4 grandchildren – Theresa (Jake) McDonald, Matthew Benedetto, Jackson Van Volkenburgh, and Alexis Van Volkenburgh. 2 greatgrandchildren – Eli & Liam McDonald. Visitation will be held on Sunday, December 21, 2025 from 2-5 PM at Eastlund Funeral Home. A Rosary will be read at 5 PM. A Mass will be held on Monday, December 22, 2025 at 11 AM at St. Martin de Porres Catholic Church with Father Andrew Nazareth officiating. Military honors will be performed following the mass at the church. Burial will be at 3PM at Catholic Cemetery in Fort Wayne.
