Robert D. Thomas
Robert D. Thomas, 61, of Syracuse, IN. passed away on February 16, 2012. He was born on April 9, 1950 in Bloomington, IL to Earl & Dorothy (Martin) Thomas. He grew up in Lexington, IL where many of the Thomas family still reside. He resided on Barbee Lake for over 20 years, most recently residing in Syracuse. He was employed by Dana Corporation for over 24 years serving in the TFE transportation department. He was a member of the Shepherd by the Lakes Lutheran Church in Syracuse. He is survived by his 2 sons – Joe (Lisa) Thomas of Ft. Wayne & Matt(Brandy) Thomas of Syracuse. 1 daughter – Jada Thomas Bowen of Columbia City. 2 brothers – Ron (Jan) Thomas of Kankakee, IL & Jerry (Kathy) Thomas of Herscher, IL. 9 grandchildren, several nieces & nephews. He was preceded by his parents. Calling will be Saturday, February 18, 2012 from 4-7 PM at the Eastlund Funeral Home. Services will be Sunday, February 19, 2012 at 2:00 PM at the Shepherd by the Lakes Lutheran Church in Syracuse with Pastor Jerry Winegarden of the church presiding.
