Robert G. “Jerry” Johnson
Robert G. “Jerry” Johnson, 78, passed away on October 18, 2010 at Millers Merry Manor in Syracuse. He was born to Robert T. & Mary Irene (Boyce) Johnson on September 14, 1932 in Anna, Illinois. In 1957 he married Donna Ruth Cobb who survives. He graduated from Anna-Jonesboro Community High School in 1950 and served in the Army National Guard from 1950-1953 being stationed at Camp Cook, California. He attended Southern Illinois University from 1954-1958 graduating with a Bachelor Degree in Accounting. He was Treasurer/Comptroller of Kender MFG. Company in Elkhart, IN for 25 years. In 1984 he purchased Roberts MFG. Company making furniture and seating for the mobile home industry. He obtained his private pilots license in 1972 and enjoyed flying trips with his family for many years. He was an avid golfer, loved to dance, and could often be seen walking his dog. Surviving in addition to his wife Donna are 3 Sons – Robert F. (Wendy) Johnson of Nappanee, David A. (R. Lori) Johnson of Sarasota, FL and Scott T. Johnson of Syracuse. 4 Grandchildren – Kyle, Krystalle, Brett, and Taryn. Also 1 Brother – Michael Johnson of Anchorage, Alaska. A Memorial service will be held Sunday, October 31, 2010 at 2:00 PM at the Eastlund Funeral Home in Syracuse. Calling will be 1 hour prior to the service.
