Robert Spurling
Robert “Bob” Spurling, 94, of Syracuse, passed away on February 22, 2026 at Story Point West in Fort Wayne. He was born on July 31, 1931 in Fort Wayne, IN to Robert & Lillian (Hemelgarden) Spurling. In 1953 he married Nellie Ann Hollis who preceded him in 2013. Bob was a Quality Control Inspector, having worked for Weatherhead, Big Boy Products, and Goshen Rubber. He was a longtime member of St. Martin de Porres Catholic Church in Syracuse. An avid golfer, Bob was the 2015 and 2018 Max Welton Senior Champion. Bob leaves behind his daughter – Yvonne (Eric) Coburn of Leesburg. Son – Daniel (Luanne) Spurling of Cromwell. 3 grandchildren, and 3 great-grandchildren. 1 brother – Thomas Spurling of Cromwell. Along with his wife, Bob was also preceded by a by a brother – Larry Spurling. Visitation will be held on Saturday, February 28, 2026 from 1-4 PM at Eastlund Funeral Home.
