Rosemary Griffith
Rosemary Griffith, 91, of Syracuse, IN, passed away January 29, 2011 at Millers Merry Manor in Syracuse. She was born on October 18, 1919 in Fort Wayne, IN to Oscar & Stella (Beuter) Schirmeyer. On October 25, 1947 she married Laurence Griffith who survives. Rosemary & Larry moved to Lake Wawasee from Fort Wayne in 1947, and for many years they wintered in Deerfield Beach, Florida. She was formerly a secretary for Central Soya in Fort Wayne. She also was the Co-Owner of Griffith’s Wawasee Marina. Rosemary was a member of St. Martins dePorres Catholic Church in Syracuse. She is survived by her Husband Laurence “Larry” Griffith of Syracuse. Four Children – Terry (Karen) Griffith of Syracuse, Dan (Richele) Griffith of Syracuse, Lisa (Dan) Mikolajczak of Syracuse and Andrea (Mark) Stinson of Anderson. Ten Grandchildren & Nine Great-Grandchildren. One Sister – Patricia Bitting of Texas and One Brother William Schirmeyer of Fort Wayne. She was preceded by her parents and one Brother Dick Schirmeyer. Calling for Rosemary will be Monday, January 31, 2011 from 4-8 PM at the Eastlund Funeral Home. A Vigil service will be at 7:30 PM Monday evening. A Funeral Mass will be Tuesday, February 1, 2011 at 11 AM at St. Martins dePorres Catholic Church officiated by Father Richard Hire. There will also be an hour of calling from 10 AM until the Mass at 11 AM at the church. Private family burial will follow at the McClintic Cemetery. Memorials in Rosemary’s honor may be made to Alzheimers Foundation or the Wawasee Area Conservancy Foundation. Envelopes will be made available at the Funeral Home as well as at the Church.
