Ruth Helmreich
Ruth Helmreich, 92, passed away on February 28, 2026 at Towne House Retirement Community in Fort Wayne. She was born on February 21, 1934 in Pittsburg, PA to Harold & Catherine (Engelder) Romoser. On June 16, 1956 in Oak Park, IL she married Donald C. Helmreich who preceded her on August 8, 2010. She was a longtime member of the Shepherd by the Lakes Lutheran Church. Ruth is survived by her children – Ellen Pett of Essexville, MI, Jeff (Rhonda) Helmreich of Plano, TX, Jean (John) Emenhiser, Columbia City, Claire (Carl) Fickenscher, Fort Wayne, Kathy (Rich) Tursic, Springfield, OH. 18 grandchildren, and 22 great-grandchildren, and 2 expecting. Services will be held on Monday, March 23, 2026 at 11:30 at Shepherd by the Lakes Lutheran Church with Pastor Jerry Winegarden officiating. There will be 1 hour of visitation prior to the service. Burial will follow at Oakwood Cemetery in Warsaw. Eastlund Funeral Home is handling services. Memorial contributions may be made to Shepherd by the Lakes Lutheran Church.
