Ruth Wilcox

Ruth Wilcox, 86 of Syracuse, passed away Saturday, March 5, 2011 at Lakeland Rehabilitation in Milford.  She was born January 15, 1925 in Defiance, Ohio to Benjamin & Goldie (Butler) Blue.  On July 20, 1944 she married Fred Wilcox who preceded her on March 16, 1982.  Ruth moved to Syracuse in 1969 coming from the Ohio area.  She was a homemaker, and also worked for Syracuse Enterprises and the Image Group in Syracuse.  She participated in the Bell Choir at Lakeland Rehabilitation, and was active in the VFW and American Legion in Syracuse.  She was an avid golfer belonging to South Shore Golf Club.  She was a big Notre Dame Fighting Irish fan and rooted for the 24 car of Jeff Gordon in NASCAR racing.  Ruth also enjoyed ice fishing with her husband Fred on lake Wawasee.   She is survived by her Daughter – Mrs. Terry (Sue) Jodry of Milford.  Her Son Fred (JoAnn) Wilcox of Bellview, WA.  4 Grandchildren – Mrs. Todd (Holly) Sautter of Leesburg,  Mrs. Ben (Amy) Coalson of Lagrange,  John (Krissy) Wilcox of Washington, & Shelly (David) Taylor of Washington.  9 Greatgrandchildren.  1 Sister – Evelyn Brown of Continental, OH.  1 Brother – Roger Blue of Michigan.  She was preceded by her Husband, 3 Sisters, and 4 Brothers.  Visitation will be Tuesday, March 8, 2011 from 2-4 & 6-8 at the Eastlund Funeral Home.  Services will be Wednesday, March 9, 2011 at 1 PM at the Eastlund Funeral Home.  Burial will follow at the Syracuse Cemetery.  Memorial contributions may be made to the American Heart Association.
