Stacy Haines

Stacy E. Haines, 80, of Leesburg passed away April 16, 2010 at Lutheran Hospital in Fort Wayne.  He was born January 14, 1930 in Huntington, IN to Stacy E. Haines Sr. & Mearl (Shoemaker) Haines.  On June 10, 1956 he married Colleen Diffendorfer who survives.  Stacy was a US Marine Corp veteran serving in 1949 and again from 1950-52.  Stacy worked for Prudential Insurance for 16 years.  During his time with Prudential he served as a District Manager as well as a Staff Manager and Training Consultant in Chicago, Fort Wayne & Warsaw.  In October 1972 he opened Stacy’s Restaurant in Leesburg, a popular restaurant serving the Warsaw and surrounding lake areas, now in its 38th year of operation.  Stacy was a member of the North Webster United Methodist Church, the VFW, American Legion, and the Elks Lodge.  Stacy was an avid fisherman and duck hunter.  He also loved the Chicago Cubs.   Stacy is survived by his wife Colleen Haines of Leesburg, 2 Sons, Todd (Joyce) Haines of Fort Wayne, Tyler Haines of Leesburg.  5 Grandchildren – Reed & Kathleen Haines of Fort Wayne,  Ashley Haines-Spangle, Hunter & Madison Haines of Leesburg.  2 Sisters – Miriam Voloch of Spartansburg, SC & Carol Lee Meyers of Malibu, CA.

He was preceded by his parents and 2 sisters – Lillian Harris & Jean Kaylor.  Calling hours will be Tuesday, April 20, 2010 from 2-4 & 6-8 PM at the funeral home.  Services will be Wednesday, April 21, 2010 at 11 AM at the Eastlund Funeral Home in Syracuse with Pastor David Smitley officiating.  Burial will be at Mount Hope Cemetery in Huntington, IN at 3:00 PM.  Memorial contributions may be made to the North Webster United Methodist Church, The American Heart Association, or the Kidney Foundation.
