Stanley A. Fox

Stanley A. Fox, 67, of Syracuse Indiana passed away Friday, June 18, 2010 at Lutheran Hospital in Fort Wayne, Indiana. Stan was the oldest child born to Robert and Hazel Fox in Flint, Michigan on March 13, 1943. He was a graduate of Elmhurst High School, Fort Wayne and following graduation he spent his next four years at Indiana University, Bloomington, graduating in 1965. Stan affiliated with Phi Gamma Delta Fraternity while at IU. Stan is survived by his wife of 45 years, Becky and son Jeff (Nikki) and three grandchildren, Riley, Cameron and Clayton Fox of Beverly Hills, Michigan. A sister, Sally (Steve) Springer of Syracuse Lake.
Stan was employed by General Motors for 32 ½ years, working in many US locations with his final stint with Saturn in Tennessee. After retirement, Stan and Becky moved to Lake Wawasee and later moving to Syracuse Lake. His last position was with Todd Realty in Syracuse.
All along the way, Stan became active with the IU Alumni Association, organizing Alumni Clubs in Nashville, Tennessee and Kosciusko County. In 2006 Stan was Chairperson of the IUAA, overseeing 500,000 living alumni. He served on the IUAA Executive Council for ten years and had continued active as a past chairperson. He was a member of the Calvary United Methodist Church in Syracuse. The Syracuse Lions Club was a great passion of his, serving on several committees and receiving the Gus Duehmig Award and the President’s Award in 2003 for outstanding leadership.
Visitation will be at Eastlund Funeral Home, Syracuse, located on State Road 13 on Tuesday, June 22, 2010 from 4-8 PM. The Memorial service will be Wednesday, June 23 at the Calvary United Methodist Church on Huntington Street (HWY 13) at 11:00 AM. A luncheon will follow the service at the church, please wear RED to celebrate Stan’s life.
