Susan Shell
Susan “Suzie” Shell, aged 84, from Syracuse, IN, passed away unexpectedly at
TheWaters in Syracuse on December 1, 2025. Susan was born on December 7,
1940, in Fort Wayne, IN, to Carl and Irene Rank. She graduated from Cromwell
High School in 1958.
Throughout her life, Susan contributed her
nursing talents at Goshen Hospital and
served with the Syracuse EMS. She also worked at Kevco and StarCraft RV over
the years.
While living in Virginia, she found joy in participating in the Red Hat Society
and the garden club. Susan had a deep passion for tending to her flower gardens,
caring for her houseplants, collecting rocks, and crafting. Her love for animals
was fierce, and she cherished her grandchildren and great-grandchildren dearly.
She is
survived by her sons Perry (Darleen) Hunter of Warsaw, Randy Hunter of
Syracuse, and daughter Shelly (Dan) Clodfelter of Syracuse, along with
grandchildren Quinn Hunter, Brooke Myers, Ryan Allee, Lauren Hunter, and
Brittnee Allee,
and 11 great grandchildren.
Donations in Susan’s honor can be made to the Lucky Mama Project of Indiana or
the American Heart Association.
At this time, no services will be held. A Celebration of Life will take place at
a later date.
