Ted Auer

Fred “Ted” Auer, 89, of Syracuse, IN passed away on May 2, 2011 at Millers Merry Manor in Syracuse. He was born on September 28, 1921 in Syracuse, IN to George & Lillie (Roberts) Auer. On April 5, 1941 he married Clara E. “Katie” Held who survives him. They recently celebrated 70 years of marriage together. Ted was a lifelong Syracuse resident. He was employed by Liberty Coach in Syracuse for 30 years, then Fairmont Homes in Nappanee for 5 years, and Vega Corporation 5 years before retiring. Ted was an avid golfer. He enjoyed spending time in his garden, then driving around his tractor handing out his vegetables to friends. He is survived by his wife Katie Auer of Syracuse. 1 son – John (Lavera) Auer of Nappanee. 2 grandchildren. 1 sister – Mrs. Tom (Marietta) Pulley of Marion, IN & 1 brother – Robert Auer of Milford, IN. He was preceded by his son – Tommy Auer. Services will be Saturday, May 7, 2011 at 12:00 PM at the Eastlund Funeral Home with Pastor Harlan Steffen presiding. Calling will be One hour prior to the service on Saturday, from 11AM until 12 Noon. Burial will be at the Syracuse Cemetery.
