Virginia Caskey
Virginia Mae Caskey, 95, of Syracuse, IN passed away on May 4, 2011 at Millers Merry Manor. She was born on March 10, 1916 in Marshall County to Daniel & Maude (Fulmer) Wise. On September 19, 1936 she married Edwyn Caskey who preceded her in 2005. They lived most of their lives in the Syracuse area, moving to Adams Lake in Wolcottville upon retirement. She and Edwyn operated the Oakwood Park from 1946 until 1953. She retired from Thornburg Drug Store in 1979. She was a member of the Calvary United Methodist Church in Syracuse. Virginia is survived by her two sons – Jim (Kay) Caskey of Leesburg, IN & Dan (Kelly) Caskey of Elkhart, IN. Her daughter – Mrs. Jim (Sharilyn) McLaughlin of Noblesville, IN. Seven grandchildren & 9 greatgrandchildren. Services will be Friday, May 6, 2011 at 12 Noon at the Calvary United Methodist Church in Syracuse with Pastor David Herr officiating. Calling will be 2 hours prior to the service, from 10 AM until noon. Burial will follow at the Syracuse Cemetery. Memorial contributions may be made to the Calvary United Methodist Church.
