William M. Beemer

William M. “Bill” Beemer, 86, of Syracuse passed away on December 26, 2012 at the IU Health Goshen Hospital.  He was born on April 4, 1926 in Plumtree, IN to Oral & Irene (McCourg) Beemer.  On August 14, 1949 he married Barbara Keplinger who survives.  He was a WWII US Navy veteran serving from 1944-46.   Bill moved to Lake Wawasee full time in 1961.  He was a Manufacturing Rep. for many years as well as President of Beemer Enterprises.  He was a member of St. Andrews United Methodist Church.  He was President of the Syracuse Museum.  Ft. Wayne Mizpah Shrine, Scottish Rite & 32 degree Mason.  Past Commodore of the Wawasee Flotilla.  Past Commander of the Huntington VFW.  Syracuse American Legion.  President of the Sesquicentennial  1987.  Bill is survived by his wife – Barbara Beemer of Syracuse.  2 daughters – Mrs. Constance (Steven) Nitsch of Kalamazoo, MI & Mrs. Cindi (Jeff) Wells of Syracuse.  5 grandchildren – Emily, Andrew, & Alan Nitsch.  Leighton & Cassandra Wells.  He was preceded by his granddaughter-in-law Amanda ” Mandi” Wells and his greatgranddaughter Abigail Juliana “A.J” Wells.   Visitation will be Friday, December 28, 2012 from 2-4 & 6-8 PM at the Eastlund Funeral Home.  Services will be Saturday, December 29, 2012 at 1:00 PM at the Eastlund Funeral Home, officiated by Reverend Mike Neff of St. Andrews United Methodist Church.  Interment will take place on Monday, December 31, 2012 at the Markle Cemetery in Markle, IN with Military Honors.  Memorial contributions may be made to the Syracuse Museum or the Kosciusko County Cancer Care Fund.  Online condolences to: eastlundfuneralhome.com
