William Selvey
William “Bill” Selvey, 73, of Syracuse, IN passed away on February 19, 2013 at the IU Goshen Hospital after a brief illness. He was born on August 16, 1939 in Toledo, OH to Daniel & Alice (Marsh) Selvey. On March 6, 1983 in Syracuse, IN he married Joyce Smith who survives. He was a Toledo Police Officer investigating personal injury accidents and was an instructor for the Police Academy before retiring and moving to Syracuse. He joined the Syracuse Police Department was the Police Chief before retiring from law enforcement. He joined his wife operating the Country Mouse until it closed in 2009. He is survived by his wife – Joyce Selvey of Syracuse. 2 daughters – Gloria Selvey & Cheryl Henry of Belleville, IL. 1 son – Brad Selvey of Belleville, IL. 1 stepson – Terry Smith of Syracuse. 2 step grandchildren – Sydney & Sarah Smith of Westfield, IN. He was preceded by His mother and step father Alice & Lloyd Reed. His father Daniel Selvey. 1 stepson Brad Smith. A memorial service will be held on Sunday, February 24, 2013 at 3:00 pm at the Eastlund Funeral Home. Pastor Brad Cox will officiate the service.
