Jerry Kirkdorfer
Jerry Kirkdorfer, 81, of Syracuse, passed away on Sunday, August 23, 2026 at his home. He was born on August 13, 1945 in Goshen, IN to Hubert & Evangeline (Keim) Kirkdorfer. He was a 1963 graduate of Syracuse High School. He went on to Manchester College where he played baseball. He would then go on to graduate from Indiana University in 1969. From 1969 to 1973 he served his country in the United States Air Force, attaining the rank of Captain. On June 21, 1968 he married Debra Leer who survives. Jerry was a lifelong avid collector of cards and coins. He was an avid golfer, and former member of Max Welton Golf Club. He loved the lake and all it entailed. He was quite the prankster throughout his life. He was devoted to his wife, and his daughter was the apple of his eye. His grandchildren brought him such joy even to his last day. He served as the Vice President of Manufacturing at Nishakawa Standard (NISCO) Company, headquartered in Japan, located locally in Topeka, IN. He is survived by his wife – Debra Kirkdorfer of Syracuse. His daughter – Angela (Jeff) Goralczyk of Syracuse. 1 grandson – Nicholas (Carrie) Goralczyk of Warsaw. 3 granddaughters – Alexandra (J.T) Saylor of Syracuse, Megan (Collin) Williams of Syracuse, and Elizabeth Goralczyk of Syracuse. 7 greatgrandchildren. 1 sister – Susan (Jeff) Myers of Angola. 1 cousin – Melinda Pinney of Syracuse. Visitation will be held on Friday, August 28, 2026 from 4-7 PM at the Eastlund Funeral Home. Services will be held on Saturday, August 29, 2026 at 11 AM at the funeral home. Burial will follow with Military Honors at the Syracuse Cemetery. Memorial Contributions in Jerry’s name may be made to Goshen Hospice or Wawasee Athletic Department.
